Well Day 3 comes to an end. The Yard boys had another good day. We started off with Brock and Max cleaning the windows from the outside, while Brett took on the weedeater task "with NEW line", Seth did a little more mowing while Mitchell, Thomas and Brian started working on cleaning the other two vans. After the windows ...
As my own first mission trip hits “hump” day, I can tell you that this group of youth is truly amazing. The work they have accomplished in such a small amount of time has already impacted the children and staff here in ways I could not have imagined. The transformation of the facility and grounds is notable just as much in ...
Our theme…”We can change the world with our own 2 hands”. Today was our 3rd and final day of mission work. The middle schoolers have been absolutely phenomenal this week, jumping in where they were needed, and going above and beyond in all situations. Those working with the children dove in head first, ...
Day 2 another fun filled day. When we first arrived at East 10th, several of the kids went back to the classrooms they worked in yesterday and the yard boys(Seth, Brett, Max, Brock, Mitchell, Thomas & Brian) stayed outside and worked on several projects. First off were the cots, the boys went inside and brought all the cots that the...
I didn’t want to go swimming so I didn’t bring my swimsuit. So everyone was trying to get me in the pool. Eventually I was pushed into the pool by a little 7 year old, and it was actually very fun after all.
Cleaning the van was not a lot of fun, but I got a lot of clothes, old sucker sticks and other trash. It looked a lot better when we finished.
One of the kids played with my ear for 5 minutes, flicking it. It seemed to entertain him.
From Maddie – A bunch of little kids dogpiled on me in the playground, they seemed to have a lot of fun. Me not so much.
I liked working with two year olds because they don’t ask for piggyback rides. They understand you but they are still really cute. One decided he was going to bite me so I told him no. He was kicking and punching me. I told him to stop and told the teacher and it was fine
So I was giving a piggyback ride to this little girl named Heaven and she kissed me on the back. Maddi and Nick got a kiss on the back too so now we have the phrase, “kissed by Heaven.” She is a sweet, little Hispanic girl who wants piggyback rides constantly.
I gave about 20-30 piggyback rides yesterday. It hurt so much and felt like I got sunburned on my shoulders because they choke you so hard. It was worth it and fun. One boy would mess with our hair while we were giving him a piggyback ride. I really like that kid.
I got to mow the lawn with a non self propelling lawn mower. It was really hard but fun. We got to take a shower at the end of the night and it was much needed
It was close to death like death being waived in front of your eyes. Madison told the kids to dog pile on me. They cornered me on the playground. It was so scary. However, then, later that day, I played tag with some really cool kids and now and I am thinking it might not really be that bad hanging out with young children. At least not as bad as I ...

On our first day I got trampled by a bunch of 1 year olds they are crazy but, so cute you hardly notice it.
When we did mission the children found out I would be leaving and totally flipped but I know I will miss them. I met a TON of new people I got a little overwhelmed but solon the feeling past and I felt much better. I came on ...
So today was our first day at East 10th, this church was built in 1911 and is also very neat. They house day care for children from 6 weeks old up to 8th grade, around 150 kids total. 89% are from families below the poverty level. Ms. Jean, who has been there since they opened in 1997 gave us a tour this morning and described the ...
